Aggie Muster Pearland, Texas

For many years I have wanted to start the Aggie Muster tradition in Pearland, Texas, but it was not the right time for my family. This year we have reserved the MFC at First United Methodist Church in Pearland from 6 pm - 9 pm on Friday, April 21 as an unoffical Muster location to determine interest in starting & continuing this tradition in our community.

Your entire family is welcome. Dinner will be catered BBQ and should be pre-ordered for your family using this weblink. If you would like to make an additional donation for the room rental (total $320) and/or decorations (estimated at $150 for table covers, candles, candle holders, simple centerpieces), that can be done here too. Deadline to order food is Monday, April 17. If you would like to attend Muster but skip dinner, or if you have children under 5 attending, please indicate your headcount on the attached form so we have enough seating for everyone.

Setup beginning at 5 pm. (Please email Amy, arghiselin@comcast.net, if you can help.)
Doors will open at 5:45 pm.
Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm.
Muster will begin at 7:00 pm.
Cleanup will begin at 7:45 pm. (Please email Amy if you can help.)

As you know, Aggie Muster is a tradition unique to Texas A&M University that embodies and perpetuates the Aggie Spirit. Celebrated on April 21st every year, Muster engages thousands of Aggies worldwide to honor and celebrate the Aggie Family – past, present, and future. It is famously quoted “If there is an A&M man in one hundred miles of you, you are expected to get together, eat a little, and live over the days you spent at the A&M College of Texas.” Although over a century has passed and thousands of Musters have been held, the roots remain the same of honoring the Aggies who have passed and celebrating those gathered together.

Growing up in New Orleans, Aggie Muster was an event I looked forward to attending with my Dad (Class of '60). He led the Aggie Muster ceremony in Humble, TX for many years after we moved to the Kingwood area in the late 1980s. My family honored him last year during the ceremony in Humble. Now, this year, I'd like to restart this tradition in Pearland with my friends, neighbors and fellow Aggies. If you would like to honor a Aggie who has passed since last year's muster, please let Amy know so we can include his/her name and class information in the program.

Thank you for joining us,
Richard Ghiselin (Class of '91)
