Leaving a Lasting Impact for the Next Generation of Aggies
Planned giving is a meaningful way to support the future of Texas A&M University and Texas Aggies while creating a lasting legacy of your own. By including The Association of Former Students in your estate plans, you can ensure your impact continues for generations of Texas Aggies to come.
A planned gift allows you to designate a portion of your assets — during your lifetime or through your estate — to support the mission of connecting Aggies, preserving traditions and serving students long into the future.
Ways to Make a Planned Gift
Bequests - The most common type of planned gift is a bequest, which can be included in your will or living trust. These gifts may include cash, securities, real estate or other assets. Your attorney or financial advisor can help you incorporate this into your plans.
Beneficiary Designations - Another simple option is naming The Association as a beneficiary — or partial beneficiary — of a retirement account, donor-advised fund, life insurance policy or commercial annuity.
Because beneficiary designations override your will or trust, it is important to review them regularly to ensure your wishes are accurately reflected.
How Your Gift Makes an Impact
As a charitable organization, The Association of Former Students receives your gift tax-free, allowing your generosity to go even further.
Planned gifts help support:
- Scholarships for current and future Aggies
- Meaningful traditions like Muster and Aggie Ring Day
- Student programs and organizations
- Academic excellence and university initiatives
Kayla Oslakovich ’28 tells her story:
Adjusting to life after the military came with its challenges. As a full-time student, Oslakovich balanced her coursework while managing a service-related injury that required frequent doctor’s appointments and ongoing physical therapy, all while supporting her family. To keep up with these responsibilities, she worked multiple jobs, stretching herself thin to make ends meet. For Oslakovich, the scholarship granted to her by The Association of Former Students wasn't just a means of support in academics, but a means of survival. “It felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Now I can actually think about things that weren’t possible before,” Oslakovich said. “I can’t express how helpful it was."
Your gift strengthens the Aggie Network and enriches the student experience for years to come. Thank you!
