One of the most powerful networking tools available to Aggies is the Find An Aggie directory.
You can use tx.ag/FindAnAggie for free, thanks to Association donors. It’s maintained by The Association of Former Students and has contact information for 98% of living former students.
A login is required, but takes only minutes to set up. And users must abide by the terms of use, which include no solicitations, commercial/business or political use, promotions or personal fundraising. Access will be revoked, and actions that violate federal law can trigger fines.
The powerful search options can, however, help you find old Classmates and friends even if your memory is a little rusty!
Some examples:
The full terms of use are below, but here are a few examples of inappropriate use:
Former students are encouraged to update their Find An Aggie profile and utilize this resource to keep up with Aggie Classmates and friends and to help grow Aggie connections. Visit tx.ag/Profile to start.
You can personalize your profile with a photo, your student activities and more. This can help friends find you! And in the privacy settings panel, you can choose what profile information is viewable to others. You can make information viewable publicly, viewable only to registered users of the site, or private.
Also, use your Find An Aggie profile to ensure you get emails about Class Reunions, Aggie events in your area, local A&M Club news and Aggie Musters.
Such emails are sent by The Association using your email, location and Class year from Find An Aggie. For example, hundreds of thousands of local Muster invitations are sent each year based on ZIP codes. Make sure your details and email preferences are up to date!
Former student events like these are a great way to build your Aggie Network, too. Being an Aggie and taking part in Aggie events doesn’t end when you step off campus.
All these efforts are part of The Association’s mission to “perpetuate ties of affection and esteem formed in university or college days.”
In fact, the former student directory is one of the very oldest functions of The Association. It goes back to the first meeting, on June 26, 1879, when 11 ex-cadets decided to start keeping a record of all their fellow former students, “thus promoting and maintaining fellowship.”
More than 140 years later, staying connected is still one of the biggest perks of being an Aggie.
Find An Aggie Terms of Use
Find an Aggie is not for commercial, business or political use. This includes promotions or personal fundraising, and trying to find potential clients. No soliciting! Use is limited to our mission of “maintaining ties of affection and esteem formed in university days.”
Any account suspected of data mining for any purpose, including the creation of or additions to outside databases, or asking members for personal information will have its access revoked and may be subject to fines in accordance with the CAN-SPAM act. Attempts to bypass the daily limit of lookups will result in the suspension of directory privileges to your account and other accounts you may have used.
All users are prohibited from using the site, or attempting to use the site, or enabling others to use the site, in a manner that:
If you are trying to contact former students in your area, please contact your local A&M Club. These Clubs have the ability to contact their members in bulk. If you have any questions, please contact the Web Team at Web@AggieNetwork.com and we will evaluate your request and get back with you as soon as possible.
Your donations allow The Association of Former Students to operate, update and maintain tx.ag/FindAnAggie and AggieNetwork.com and to provide these services free to Aggies everywhere. Thank you! You can make a gift of any amount at tx.ag/Give.
