U.S. Congressman Jeb Hensarling'79 (Retired) served in the U.S. Congress for eight terms
(2003-19), including three terms as Chairman of the House Financial
Services Committee. Additionally, he served on the Congressional
Oversight Panel for TARP, the $700 billion troubled
asset purchase program set up in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
During his congressional tenure, the Wall Street Journal referred to Hensarling as, “[the driver] of economic policy in the House.”
Congressman Hensarling currently serves as a Strategic Advisor to a
number of financial firms including the Texas Stock Exchange and ProCap
Financial. After leaving Congress he served as Managing Director and
Executive Vice Chairman of UBS Americas. In that
role he advised the firm’s senior leadership and largest clients on
geopolitical and public policy risks to various market sectors and the
macroeconomy. He also serves on the Leadership Council of the Association of Former Students.
He earned a BA in Economics from Texas A&M University and a JD from
the University of Texas. He and his family reside in Dallas, their
long-time home, where Hensarling volunteers his time to Goodwill and
Scouting America.
