HOWDY
The Class of ’74 45 Year Reunion has been finalized, and we are less than two months away! WHOOP!

Please make plans to join us Oct. 17-20 for an unforgettable weekend

Our 45 Year Reunion weekend officially begins for early arrivals on Thursday, Oct. 17, with the ’74 Monthly Luncheon and casual dinner. The Reunion officially begins on Friday, Oct. 18 and continues until Sunday, Oct. 20. Check out our Reunion schedule, which outlines exciting events you will not want to miss!

These include a Golf Outing, a tour of Bush Library, a tour of the Parsons Mounted Calvary facility, and a Friday Night Dinner at the hotel. Revisit your favorite campus and College Station hangouts, rediscover A&M (a lot has changed in the past five years – not to mention the last 45 years), catch up with old friends, and make some new friends, too. And of course, there will be the Class business meeting on Saturday, followed by a Game Watch Party to see the Fightin' Texas Aggies BT74HO Ole MISS!

Your Class Agents and The Association of Former Students have planned a fantastic weekend of Reunion activities. Don't forget to bookmark and visit the Reunion page often for updates about this milestone event. Please note this schedule is subject to change and will be updated periodically. The schedule of events will be finalized prior to our Reunion as soon as the game time is announced!

Things to do leading up to the Reunion:
UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION
To receive the latest news, please update your contact information.

JOIN OUR FACEBOOK GROUP
If you are on Facebook, join the private/closed Class of '74 Facebook group to start connecting with Classmates.

VISIT THE CLASS OF ’74 CLASS PAGE
Another avenue to receive information on the Class of ’74 is through The Association of Former Students Class pages

SEE WHO'S COMING
For better or worse, they’re the ones who knew you back when. Laugh at the awkward memories, see vaguely familiar faces, reminiscing and reconnecting with friends about times to remember and the times to forget, and make new connections during our Reunion events. A list of Classmates and their guests who have registered for our 45 Year Reunion Weekend will be listed on the Reunion page, so check back often. (You will need to be logged in to your AggieNetwork.com profile to see the list.)

FIND AN AGGIE
Do you want to get back in touch with your freshman dorm pals, unit, band, club, teammates, lettermen, college or department classmates, but don’t know how? You can do all of this through Find an Aggie, which allows you to find classmates and sort by major, year, hometown, Club, etc. If you have not used this site lately, check your profile and bring it up to date (this will also help your friends locate you more easily). If it is your first time, establish a login via AggieNetwork.com and create your profile. The directory is a fantastic resource for locating and contacting former classmates and friends.

INVITE THREE FRIENDS
With the help of technology, and as a Class of accomplished old farts, we are hoping we can reach our Reunion attendance goal of 300+. If you don’t see any familiar names on the list of those registered, you can use Find an Aggie tool on The Association website and then invite and challenge your buddies to attend. If everyone who decides to attend attempts to connect with three other Classmates, we believe the effects will be phenomenal and we might double our goal. The Class of ’74 has continuously set the standard and broken attendance records for Reunion participation and we want to have the largest 45 Year Reunion attendance – another one for the record books at The Association of Former Students.

SEND US YOUR PHOTOS
Be sure to send us photos from your life – time at Aggieland, work, family, kids, grandkids, etc. by Sept. 1.

We look forward to seeing you in October for the Class of ’74 45 Year Reunion! Thanks and gig ’em!

ATTIRE
Your Reunion is going to be a fun, casual affair. Feel free to dress comfortably as you will be walking around campus. Be sure to check the weather forecast before making your way to College Station and pack accordingly.

BUSH LIBRARY TOUR
The Association of Former Students has teamed up with the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum for your Reunion weekend. The core exhibit space tells the story of the life and times of George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States. Family-friendly and educational exhibits guide visitors through an interactive tour of the museum. View replicas of President Bush's Camp David Office and White House Press Room, and receive a briefing on the Gulf War in the Situation Room. Have your picture made while seated at the desk in our replica Oval Office. The cost of entry is $3 with your Reunion nametag. The Class of ’74 will meet at the George Bush Library at 1:30 p.m. to explorer the library together.

PARSONS MOUNTED CAVALRY TOUR
The Corps of Cadets Mounted Unit consists of cavalry, artillery and quartermaster elements. Military training at A&M included mounted drill until 1943, when the Army disbanded its horse operations. The Cavalry tradition was revived at A&M by the Class of 1974. The unit was named after then Commandant of the Corps of Cadets, Colonel Thomas R. Parsons. Military horse training is used to teach cadets self-discipline, confidence, leadership, and decision-making. Learning to manage an animal much larger than themselves with a mind of its own in challenging conditions develops many of the skills necessary for modern business and military leaders. There are 90 cadets and 50 horses in this unit. Fiddler’s Green, a 27-acre plot off F&B Road and Harvey Mitchell Parkway, houses the Cav and its horses. Come out and see the the home of this special unit through a tour led by Bob Byrns ’74.

CLASS AGENT ELECTIONS
Class Agents serve as a liaison between their Class and The Association. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved as a former student, stay connected to the university and help lead your Class supporting A&M. Elections are held in conjunction with your Reunions, so now is your chance!

Teams consist of two to five members of your Class and serve a five-year term. As a Class Agent you will serve on The Association of Former Students' Leadership Council, which meets twice a year. The Association of Former Students provides orientation and resources to aid you in this role. Class Agents are responsible for keeping the Class informed through newsletters, websites and emails, planning Class events and providing annual fund information to former students.

Judy, Robert, Kyle and Randy would be honored to serve another 5 years, if re-elected.

Class Agent elections will be held at the Class Business Meeting during your Reunion. For more information go to tx.ag/ClassAgent, or email Class@AggieNetwork.com or call (800) 633-7514 at least seven days prior to your Reunion to get your name on the ballot!

All nominations must be received by the Reunion registration deadline.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The Association of Former Students has a fairly flexible cancellation policy. If you cannot attend your Reunion, or an event for which you have registered, please contact the Class Programs office (800) 633-7514 no later than Oct. 10. Your payment will be refunded with the exception of the registration fee. Registration changes after the Sept. 10 deadline cannot be refunded as food orders will have been guaranteed.

CENTURY CLUB DONATION
Your participation in the annual fund has a significant impact on the education experience of our students and provides the resources needed to support programs and activities for students and former students. We appreciate that you choose to participate and support Aggies and Texas A&M. Make a difference by donating now.
