This image, taken by Daniel Liu '04, was first published in
Texas Aggie magazine in May-June 2011. He wrote that he was inspired to take this photograph after watching the movie
Inception, in which a spinning top is an integral part of the plot. “Since I don’t actually own a top, I figured my Aggie Ring would make a perfect substitute,” Daniel said. “I lucked out and got this shot after about 20 frames. I ended up taking
close to 200 total on different surfaces and from different angles, but none of them was quite as good as this one.”
