Glynn Lemarch Smith 

January 21, 1940 - July 3, 2026 

Glynn Lemarch Smith was born on Sunday, January 21, 1940, in Houston, Texas, to Lemarch Clifford & Hazel Louise Smith. It snowed 12 inches in Houston on the day of Glynn’s birth.

Glynn was a graduate of Spring Branch High School in Houston, Texas, and a 1962 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was an avid hunter in his younger days, hunting on his parent’s ranch located out of Charlotte, Texas for many decades. Glynn always enjoyed watching football, especially The Dallas Cowboys, but his first love was all of his family. He cherished his time with his daughter Cheryl, his grandchildren, Morgan and Jacob, and his great-granddaughter, Carmen Louise.

On July 3, 2026, the Lord called Glynn home after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was laid to rest at the foot of his parents and grandparents in their family plot at Charlotte City Cemetery. No matter what anybody says about grief and time healing all wounds, the truth is there are certain sorrows that never fade. He was the best daddy, the best pawpaw, and one of the best men to walk this earth. Our sun will shine dimmer without him.
