Robert Milton "Bob" McKechnie, III 

April 21, 1937 - June 17, 2026 

Robert "Bob" Milton McKechnie III was born on April 21, 1937, in Waco, TX. The only child born to parents, Robert Milton McKechnie Jr. and Margaret Frazier McKechnie.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, commissioned upon graduation at Texas A&M in 1959.

Robert received his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering; he went on to receive his Master of Engineering and Master of Engineering Admin from George Washington University. While attending Arizona State PhD. program, he was recalled to Fort Belvoir to become DPO support P.A.T.R.I.O.T. from September 1977 to October 1986.

Robert served 43 years as a government civilian division chief of R&D Power Generation for Joint Forces Ft. Belvoir, VA.

He is preceded in death by his youngest son, John Wesley McKechnie. Robert survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dorothy; two sons, Robert M. IV (Tammy) and James G. (Denise); stepsons, Douglas W. Moore (Heather), Christopher Moore (Adam), Andrew Moore; grandsons, Dr. Hunter Moore D.O. (Dr. Casey Moore D.O), Mason W. Moore ESQ; granddaughters, June Moore and Violet Moore.
