Dennis Vernon Williamson

August 2, 1956 - October 4 , 2022

Dennis Vernon Williamson, 66, passed away after a long battle with cancer on October 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 2, 1956, to Mary and Vernon Williamson. On November 8, 1980, he married Debra Adele Branham. They were married for 41 years and were blessed with two children, Amelia and David.

Dennis attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, which is when he met Debra, who attended St. Agnes Academy next door. He graduated from high school in 1974 and went on to earn a master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. Dennis worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, which then became AT&T, for 31 years. He was an area manager in engineering and retired in 2019. Dennis enjoyed woodworking, volunteering with the American Cancer Society, watching Star Trek, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Williamson, and his mother, Mary Williamson. He is survived by his wife Debra Williamson; his daughter Amelia Smith, son-in-law Kenneth Smith, and their three children, James, Lucas, and Ryan; his son David Williamson and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Williamson; and his brother Mark Williamson, sister-in-law Karen Williamson, and nephew Andrew Williamson.
