2021 Version of Interactive 'Muster Live' Portal Launches

Caitlin "Cait" Shields '11 April 19, 2021 1:19 PM updated: May 28, 2021 8:58 AM

Muster Live, the interactive web hub at MusterLive.AggieNetwork.com, is now open for Aggie Muster 2021. Friends and family of Aggies who have passed away in the past year can visit the Muster Live site to contribute memories and photos to the online Reflections Display and to say “Here” virtually for their fallen comrades.

The Association of Former Students’ 2021 Worldwide Roll Call for the Absent, in which volunteers call the names of all 1,401 Aggies who passed away since the 2020 Muster, will premiere April 21 on MusterLive.AggieNetwork.com at 6:51 a.m. Central time, which is sunrise in Aggieland. The student-run campus Muster from Reed Arena will stream live beginning at 7 p.m. Local Muster events will play at other times during the day. All events will also be replayable after their first showing, and additional Muster-related content is available on demand.

A video that scrolls all 1,401 names on the 2021 roll will begin airing on MusterLive.AggieNetwork.com and on The Association’s home page at AggieNetwork.com at 3:22 p.m. on April 20, which coincides with sunrise on April 21 in Sydney, Australia — the location of the easternmost A&M Club. The scrolling video will remain up at AggieNetwork.com until 4:59 a.m. April 22, which coincides with the end of Muster Day in Hawaii — the location of the westernmost A&M Club.

MusterLive.AggieNetwork.com was created in 2020 by a partnership of The Association of Former Students, Texas A&M University and the student-led Campus Muster Committee as a response to the worldwide pandemic that prevented Aggies from gathering in person for the annual Muster events. The portal proved so popular with Aggies that The Association committed to continuing to maintain and operate the site for future Musters. Although many local Musters in 2021 will be in person, some have been canceled, some have been converted to online events, and others are proceeding as hybrid events with both in-person and virtual components.
