As each name was called, other Aggies answered “here,” symbolizing that each of those on the Roll Call remains a part of Texas A&M and the Aggie Network. While each of the more than 300 Aggie Musters held worldwide will include a Roll Call of Aggies in their location, this is believed to be the only event where every name on the Worldwide Roll Call is read in a single location.

Porter S. Garner III ’79, President and CEO of The Association of Former Students, said it was important to The Association to ensure that all names on the Roll Call are recognized at Muster.

“Every Aggie deserves to have someone answer here for them,” said Garner. “Each of those included on our Roll were an important part of our Aggie Network and remain so today.”

Prior to the reading of names, Tom Wisdom ’60, president of the Sul Ross Group, read the poem "Roll Call for the Absent" by Dr. John Ashton, Class of 1906. At the conclusion of the Roll Call, Madeline Alpar ’19, president of the Aggie Network Student Ambassadors, read "In Memoriam" by Lt. Col. David Harrigan ’68, followed by closing remarks from Garner.

In addition to the reading of the Roll Call, The Association of Former Students also honored those on the 2019 Worldwide Roll Call by scrolling their names on the Huddleston Video Wall and AggieNetwork.com. The scroll of names began at 3:21 p.m. Saturday, April 20, to coincide with sunrise in Sydney, Australia, the location of the easternmost A&M Club.

Muster ceremonies were scheduled in about 300 locations around the world, including the Campus Muster ceremony in Reed Arena and the Brazos County A&M Club Muster in the Memorial Student Center.
