Creed Lamar Ford III(1952 - 2018)
FORD III, Creed Lamar Creed Lamar Ford III, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 20, 2018. He was born on November 17, 1952 in Darby, Pennsylvania to the late Jane Freitag Ford and Creed Lamar Ford Jr. Shortly after birth, Creed returned to Texas and was commissioned an 'Honorary Texan' by Governor Shivers on October 30th, 1953. Creed graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas in 1971. Creed went on to earn a degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 1975. On January 31, 1976, he married Lynn Kay Self. Together, they had two children, Harper Lindsay and Creed Lamar IV. Creed was a long-time, well respected restauranteur, where he managed, inspired and led thousands of employees at various companies including Brinker International, Fired Up, Inc. and Ford Restaurant Group, Inc. Creed enjoyed ranching, hunting, songwriting, golf, Aggie football and especially spending time with family and friends. He was the best story teller and was a true friend who was always there when you needed him. Creed's life passion was helping others. As a founder of The Fired Up Foundation, he has raised and donated over $2.7 million to various charities over the years. His most recent passion was the equine therapy program at Marbridge in Manchaca, Texas. Due to his involvement, support and guidance over the years, the new equine facility at Marbridge will be named the Creed Ford III Therapeutic Riding Ranch. He is survived by his father Creed Ford Jr., his beloved wife of 42 years, Lynn; his daughter and son-in-law, Harper and Peter Rehme, their two daughters Rome and Louisa; his son and daughter-in-law Creed IV and Cassie, and their two sons Creed V and Stephen Max; his sister Karen Cook and husband Bill; brother Randy Ford and wife Denise, Terry Ford and wife Julie; sister Nancy Mulligan; and many nieces and nephews. A private family burial service will be held in September. Celebrating Creed L. Ford III
Thank you again for all the love, prayers, stories, and notes. They absolutely mean so much to us.

We will be having a private family burial ceremony followed by a Celebration of Life party on September 29th at our family ranch in Kingsland, Texas.

Exact details of the event will be provided in the next several weeks, but please save the date as Creed would love to celebrate with y’all from high above.

We are sincerely appreciative of the level of donations that have been received so far into The Fired Up Foundation after the passing of Creed. These donations will continue the amazing achievements of the Foundation and the organizations which we support.

We are proud to announce that the upcoming Therapeutic Riding Center at Marbridge in South Austin will be named after Creed.

The official name of the facility will be Creed Ford III Therapeutic Riding Ranch.

Over the past 6 months and led by Creed, we have been working with the Marbridge Foundation to kick off the planning and funding of the new equine center. Given the nature of Creed's involvement and over-arching vision of the equine therapy program, this naming is an honor for both parties. This project has been a passion of Creed's for years, and now this dream will become a reality.

An official press release will be launched jointly by Marbridge Foundation and The Fired Up Foundation this week.

Again, we thank you for everything during this tough time. We will be sad and we will grieve, but we also keep asking ourselves, what would C3 want us to do?

Creed Lamar Ford III (1952-2018)

With a heavy heart and an abundance of tears, we want to let everyone know that early this morning around 3:20AM Creed III peacefully entered the Heavens.

There are so many words to say, hugs to give, tears to cry, so please take a moment to reflect on his amazing legacy, great sense of humor, and immense level of caring for others.

We are working on arrangements for a Celebration of Life Party as Creed III would have wanted.

One of his passions was the Fired Up Foundation, and we ask in lieu of flowers for donations to the Foundation so we can continue all the hard work he has invested over the past 20 years.
