The Texas Aggie Bar Association has announced that Anthony G. Buzbee '90 has been selected as the 2017 Distinguished Aggie Lawyer.
Buzbee will be honored March 4 at a banquet in the Memorial Student Center as part of the 18th Annual Conference of the Texas Aggie Bar Association. Texas A&M University President Michael K. Young will be the keynote speaker at the conference banquet. The 2017 TABA scholarship recipients will also be recognized.
Buzbee received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. He is an attorney in private practice and founder of the Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
At Texas A&M, he served as a battalion commander in the Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation, Buzbee was named a Distinguished Naval Graduate and a Distinguished Student. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Persian Gulf and Somalian conflicts, earning the rank of captain and decorations including the Navy Commendation Medal.
He was appointed to the Texas A&M University Board of Regents in 2013. The Buzbee Leadership Learning Center on the Quad is named in his honor.
