Albert Vizza
VIZZA
Albert Frank Vizza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, went to his Heavenly Father on September 24 2013. He was 86 years old. Al was born in 1926 in San Antonio, Texas, into the small Italian community of San Francesco di Paola
Catholic Parish on the near west side. Al graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a star basketball player and vice president of his senior class. He went on to attend Texas A & M University where he was the Corps Bugler and a proud member of the
Fighting Texas Aggie Band. He studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1948. His love of his alma mater remained through out his life and many members of his family share his love of this institution. The values of self discipline, hard work,
integrity and a shared passion that Al learned in college were central to the man he was.
Al went on to serve his Country in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. During these years, he continued to mature into a self-directed, loving man that he was all his life. He was proud to serve his country and considered
it an honor to be an Italian American. In early 1943, Al met the love of his life, Dorothy Louise Kutac. They were married in San Antonio in 1948. God graced their marriage with seven children and 65 years of walking side by side as husband and wife. Al and
Dorothy were dedicated to one another, to their family and to the Holy Spirit. They raised their children in the Catholic faith at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Al and Dorothy were Founding Members of Blessed Sacrament. Al was a long time Volunteer Coach
for many decades and touched many a child with his values and knowledge.
Together, Al and Dorothy raised their family with the values of hard work, honesty, humor, faithfulness to family and friends and service to others. The family was raised on Al's homemade pasta, artichokes, meatballs, rigatoni and so many other gourmet Italian
dishes. His Sunday and holiday meals were the centerpiece of our family and will surely be missed. He will be truly remembered by many for his uncanny style of telling a story; Al was a master of story and joke telling. Al was quite an original person: generous,
witty, entrepreneurial, a tease, and a man of his word. If Al Vizza told you he would do something, you could count on it. Al started Vizza Mechanical Contractors first, a business he built with his own hands and spirit. Later he would start San Antonio's
first family of car washes, The Wash Tub Car Wash chain of Texas. He was so proud to employ over 1300 hard working, faithful staff members. Al was a great role model for the American Dream, a model for hard work ethic and integrity. He was a man that all of
us try to emulate and aspire to be like, a one of a kind gentleman. A special note of celebration is that Al will now be reunited with the other love of his life, his Mother Carmella. Al is survived by his lovely wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughters Dottie
Martin-Donohue and husband Kevin, Monica Coselli and husband Ray, Michelle Bobo and husband Tim; sons Albert "Buz" Vizza Jr., Roy Vizza, David Vizza and wife Patty, Matt Vizza and fiancé Jennifer Grant; grandchildren Donovan Vizza, Shelby Vizza, Randy Martin,
Allison Franklin, Carmella Vizza, Giovanni Vizza, Luciano Vizza, David Vizza Jr., Rebecca Vizza, Nicole Busby, Danielle Surface, Ray Coselli Jr., Natalie Coselli, Jennifer Denton, Tim Bobo Jr., Rachel Hood; and fifteen great grandchildren. Visitation will
