Victor G. Hazlewood '88

Victor received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M in 1988 and has been involved in high performance computing for his entire career working at Texas A&M University Supercomputer Center (now Texas A&M University High Performance Research Computing (HPRC)), San Diego Supercomputer Center (UCSD), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and now retired in May 2025 from University of Tennessee, Knoxville as the Associate CIO & Director of High Performance & Scientific Computing. Victor completed his Master of Computer Science degree in December 2025 at University of Tennessee. Victor decided to unretire to return to Texas A&M HPRC as Associate Executive Director, Director of Artificial Intelligence & Data-intensive Computing to help researchers make use of the HPRC compute resources and the VISION supercomputer which is the most powerful academic computer for research in the US as of June 2026 (this is Victor's third time being involved with the most power academic computer in the US - Blue Horizon 2000 and Kraken in June 2008). Victor has been in the East Tennessee area since 2007 and has been active in the East Tennessee Texas A&M Club since 2009. Victor assumed the Club President’s duties in June 2022. Victor lives in Knoxville with his wife Dr. Hollie Raynor while commuting back and forth to Texas A&M and has one son, Samuel Hazlewood, who graduated from University of Tennessee with an Electrical Engineering degree in 2020.
