Published in (Fort Worth) Star-Telegram on June 11, 2010 William K. "Bill" McConnell Jr.(1921 - 2010) William K. "Bill" McConnell Jr., 88, our dear father, father-in-law and grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010. While his passing was quick and unexpected, he passed peacefully, surrounded by family. Bill was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Cook County, Ill. After attending Texas A&M University with a major in aeronautical engineering, he taught aerial navigation for the Navy and then founded and operated a non-scheduled airline for two years. He then spent the rest of his career consulting in the plastics thermoforming industry. He led a happy and full life all his 88 years, and though there will be no formal service, Bill's family and friends will gather in a celebration of life, just as he would have wanted. Survivors: Sister, Catherine McConnell Pekor and sons, William K. McConnell III, Stephen B. McConnell and wife, Lise, and Scott D. McConnell and wife, Lisa; grandsons, Austin, Clayton and Ian; and granddaughter, Keller.
