Randall E. 'Randy' Rash '97, 33, of Houston (formerly of Grapeland and Crockett) died Jan. 2, 2009, after a brief illness. He was a congressional intern in the offices of U.S. Congressman Jim Turner in Washington, D.C. He worked for some of his family's businesses in Crocket; was an administrative assistant for his stepfather; and was a graphic artist for The Showbox magazine, official publication of the Texas Junior Livestock Association. He graduated with a doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2002. He served as legal counsel for the Texas Junior Livestock Association. He later maintained residences in both Houston and Crockett. He was a member of the 2000Texas A&M Meat Evaluation Team competing in Omaha, Neb., which won the competition and was named National Champion Intercollegiate Meat Animal Evaluation Team. Survivors include his father and stepmother; his mother and stepfather, John Ben Carrabba '47; a brother, Ryan W. Rash '00; paternal grandmother; and step-grandfather.
