Robert S. "Bob" Crawford, Jr. '42, 87, of Concan (formerly of Batesville and Crystal City) died Feb. 15, 2008. He was a major in the U.S. Army during World War II in New York and Puerto Rico and was a battery commander for air and coastal defense. He earned a doctorate in law from the University of Texas School of Law in 1949. He practiced from 1949 to 2002 in Crystal City and Uvalde. He was district attorney for the 38th Judicial District of Texas from 1957 to 1971. He served as legal counsel for Medina Electric Cooperative for more than 30 years. He was an Eagle Scout. Survivors include his wife of eight years, Roann Stoner; two sons; a daughter; a stepdaughter; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister.
