Jack W. Coursey
Jack W. Coursey passed away Tuesday morning April 1, 2008. A resident of Paradise Valley, he lived in Arizona for the past 50 years. He was born in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Texas A and M University. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
He was involved in battles at Iwo Jima, Guadacanal, Bougainville and Guam. He returned to the States in 1945 where he married Rae Powers. He worked as a cotton merchant until 1982 when he retired. He was a true outdoorsman, loving hunting most of all. Jack
was a charter member of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church and devoted to family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Rae Coursey. He is survived by his daughter Della Schnell, grandson Austin Duncan, and great-granddaughter Layla Rae Duncan.
An internment ceremony will be held Friday April 4 at 2:00pm. in the gardens of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church.
