John "Jack" Ford '40

John T. "Jack" Ford '40, 90, of Pottsboro (formerly of Bryan and Crockett) died Nov. 2, 2008. He was a B-17 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Forces in the 8th Air Force, 96th Bombardment Group in England during World War II. His military awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart. He retired as commander of the 3rd Mobile Communications Group at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma at the rank of colonel. Survivors include three sons, a daughter, seven granddaughters and a great-grandson.
