Roll Call Tribute

Published in Houston Chronicle on March 23, 2010 ROBERT (BOB) EDWARD LANG, SR. passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010. He was born September 16, 1927 in Cleburne, TX to Edward and Mary Langowski. Bob graduated St. Thomas High School in 1944 and served in the US Navy till 1946 and served in the Texas National Guard. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 1949. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. Bob's deep love for Texas A&M University never ceased and he spent many years of his life in support and service devoted to the University where he was known as "Bluelapels". He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a true friend to all who knew him. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Patricia Bannon Lang. He is survived by daughters, Maura and David Richards, Alicia and Ray Baker, Lisabeth and J.T. Wortham; son, Robert E. Lang, Jr.; grandchildren: Joey and Kye Stypulczak, Chris and Robert Dalcin, Reagan and Bryce Baker, and James and Holly Wortham; sister, Martha Ann Rucker and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4445 FM 359 North, Pattison, TX, 77466. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a rite of committal at 2:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX, 77060. -->
