William Gedney
Gedney,William (Bill) Robert 88, passed away May 26, 2010 at Autumn Leaves of Dallas. He spent his early years in Nebraska, graduated from Texas A&M University and earned his master's degree from Washington State University. He served in World War II as Army 2nd Lieutenant in the Philippines where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a Certified Kitchen Design architect and worked for St. Charles Kitchens for many years as well as operating his own kitchen design business. In 1976 he won the American Institute of Kitchen Design National award. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Natalie Gedney, brother Dix (Lael) of Seattle, sons Clark (Mona) of W. Lafayette, IN, and Ken of Dallas, and daughter Suzanne (Dan Christie) of Delaware, OH, granddaughters Vanessa of Burbank, CA and Megan of Dallas, grandson Jonathan of Dallas, stepdaughters Gail Bohanon of Plano and Jarene Cash (Lewis) of Grand Prairie, stepsons Kenny McKay (Pam) of Lubbock, Mark Bohanon (Sandy) of Georgetown, and John McKay (Allison) of New Braunfels, and stepgrandchildren Guy and Brandon Bohanon, and Kristin, Jordan, Payne, and Cabe McKay, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret (Peg), his sister Mary Ellen Taysum and brother Kenneth. Memorial service will be held Sunday, May 30 at 2:30 pm in Shipp Chapel at Lovers Lane Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Rd Dallas 75220. A reception will follow in Watson Hall.
