Roll Call Tribute

Walter R. Wenk '42, 89, of Melbourne, Fla., died Nov. 16, 2008. He was a bomber pilot in the southwest Pacific theater during World War II. He had three tours of duty at the Pentagon and stations in Wiesbaden, Germany; Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio; Patrick Air Force Base in Florida; and the Air War College in Montgomery, Ala. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1968 at the rank of colonel after 28 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons; and four grandsons.
