James T. Windham
James T. Windham, of Midland, passed away Wednesday May 12, 2010. He was born October 6, 1918 in Oplin, Texas to John D. and Maggie Straley Windham. He was raised and educated in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Abilene High School. He graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He served as a Captain in the Army Air Corp in WWII, flying a P-51 Mustang. He ranched in Midland, Callahan, and Oldham counties. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bettye Jo, and son, J. Kennard. He is survived by his daughter Carol Windham and husband James Harding of Clyde, TX; grandchildren, Amy Windham of Abilene, TX, Mindy Beard and husband Dustin of Midland, TX, K. C. Windham of Midland, TX, and Maggie Windham of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Blaen Windham, Straley Windham, Shelby Beard, Abbie Beard, and Heath Beard. Memorial services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Ellis Funeral Home with Reverend David Johnson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
