Patrick "Pat" Hubert '51 December 5, 2006 12:00 AM

Patrick L. Hubert '51, 79, of Kingsville died December 2, 2006. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He taught in Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine from 1954-58. He was a longtime rancher and veterinarian in Kleburg County. He was pitcher for the Aggie baseball team from 1949-51 and lettered each of those years. He was named All-Southwest Conference in 1951 and All-American pitcher and most valuable player for the 1951 Southwest Conference championship team. He was inducted into the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 1980. He and his wife, Goldia, were named Aggie Parents of the Year in 1989-90. Survivors include his wife, Goldia; nine children, including Patricia S. (Hubert) Booth '76, Laura M. (Hubert) Surovic '78, Martin A. Hubert '85, Elizabeth Hubert Alsop '87, Francis A. Hubert '88 and John T. Hubert '88; 31 grandchildren, including Goldia E. (Booth) Russek '05; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas F. Hubert '56; and a sister.
