James "Jim" Noel '52 January 9, 2007 12:00 AM

James S. Noel '52, 76, of College Station died Dec. 31, 2006 after a brief illness. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1983 at the rank of colonel. He taught civil engineering at Texas A&M from 1974 until he retired 1993 when he was named associate professor emeritus of civil engineering. He was an active consultant in retirement. He was a registered civil engineer in Texas and held two patents. Survivors include his wife, Lee; three daughters, including Patti Noel-Felderhoff '80 and Jennifer Noel Stabler '92; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother; and a sister. Memorials may be made to the Texas A&M University Flying Club, P.O. Box 5610, College Station TX 77844.
