CLARY
Sidney Ray Clary beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to sleep in the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ April 19, 2010, at the age of 90. He was born June 12, 1919 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Sidney R. Clary and Neva Jo Ray Clary. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1940, Sidney began his career in Dallas but was commissioned as a second Lieutenant and served in the 101st Airborne as World War II began. He was dropped behind enemy lines on D-Day during the invasion of Normandy, participated in Operation Market Garden and held off a German offensive during the Battle of the Bulge. In 1946 he married the love of his life Jeanne Mae Foster to whom he was married 64 years. They raised two daughters while Sid pursued a career in insurance and real estate for over 40 years. Sid served as a deacon in his church and was involved in numerous civic activities. Sid was preceded in death by his father Sidney R. Clary, mother Neva Jo Clary and wife Jeanne Mae. Sid is survived by his daughters Martha Thomson and husband Doug, Margie Skaggs and her husband John; four loving grandchildren Leslie Hamilton and husband Dale, Michael Gatewood and wife Erin, Regan Presley and Kirk Presley; four great grandsons Kyle and Connor Hamilton, and Luke and Beau Gatewood. Sidney had no siblings but was very close to numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
