David L. Waddy
April 23, 1953 - July 31, 2025
David Waddy, a resident of Mineral Wells, Texas passed away on July 31st, 2025 following a brief illness. He was the youngest son of Luther and Gertrude (Brandyberry) Waddy and was born at the Nazareth Hospital in Mineral Wells.
David was a graduate of Mineral Wells High School (1971), attended Schreiner University and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Entomology. His career included working as an entomologist for citrus groves in the Texas valley and Florida before returning to Mineral Wells for retirement and to be close to his siblings. David was a faithful member of the Palo Pinto Cowboy Church.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew James Luther Waddy and his great-great nephew John Isaac Morales.
David is survived by his children Jeffrey Waddy, Emily Waddy (Chase) and Edwin Kirk Waddy; his siblings Patricia Waddy, Frank Waddy (Lynn), Eugene Waddy (Donna), Robert Waddy (Linda), Kathy Waddy Upham; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his family, David is survived by his companion, Patricia Clary, whose devoted care during his illness was a great comfort to him and his loved ones.
The family would like to express gratitude to the care team of the Neurosurgical ICU at Medical City Fort Worth for their excellent care of David during his illness and the support offered to the family.
Honoring David's final wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest privately.
