Julie was grounded by her faith in Jesus Christ. She was compassionate, loved nature, and was creative. She loved art, books, country music and serving others. She was admired by all who knew her. Her deep compassion was for not only people but also animals and had many beloved pets during her lifetime.

Many special memories were made with her family and friends watching the beautiful sunsets at her family farm in Brushy Creek, Texas. Julie was also a talented artist, using her creativity to inspire many people. Every year she looked forward to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she served on the School Art Committee for many years. She also volunteered for Covenant House, which was an enlightening experience. Julie put her faith first in all endeavors.

Preceding her in death were her parents Kenneth Beard and Julia Helen Beard Lawrence and her in-laws Bruce and Charlotte Goodman.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, John Goodman; her devoted children Jack Victor of Nacogdoches, Texas and Lena Ann of College Station, Texas; her caring sisters Denice Hoeksema and Rick of Detroit Michigan and Dayna Beard-Isensee and her husband James of Austin, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Jill Goodman of Racine, Wisconsin and Nancy Abicht and her husband Don of South Lake Tahoe, California; her brother-in-law Bruce Goodman of Reno, Nevada; her nieces and nephews Diana and Aaron Hoeksema, Ava and Ramon Isensee; Haley Hancock; Allison Fenneman and her husband Scott; her dear relatives, and numerous lifelong friends and colleagues.
