Earl F. Gillham

May 28, 1939 - May 18, 2021

Earl Gillham, 81, a resident of Lubbock since 1978, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Mr. Gillham was born on May 28, 1939 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas to the late George Verner Gillham and Ethel Mae (Knox) Gillham.

Mr. Gillham graduated from Claude High School in 1957. He met Anita Sue Pirkle at West Texas State College, and they married on August 18, 1963 in Dalhart, Texas. He continued his education by attending Texas A & M, graduating in 1967 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Animal Science.

Earl and his wife took pride in their ownership of Flatlander Dairy in Lubbock, from 1974 to 1987. He also worked for Edward Jones Investments from 1999 to 2005. He was a true Texas A & M Aggie, loved Aggie football, and enjoyed making canes and walking sticks. Mr. Gillham loved and served God, living a life of Faith, and served as a Deacon at South Plains Church of Christ. At the time of his death he was a member of Sunset Church of Christ. Earl loved his children, Greg and Jill, and he and Sue enthusiastically supported them in all of their activities at Lubbock Christian School and Lubbock Christian University.

Surviving Mr. Gillham is his wife, Sue; one son, Greg Gillham and his wife, Arianne of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jill Gillham of Lubbock; and three grandchildren, Adelaide Gillham, Oliver Gillham, and Lucas Watts. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and their husbands, Virginia and Billy Jones, and Mary and Rex Bagwell, and one brother, Joe Gillham.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. at South Plains Church of Christ, in Lubbock, Texas. Interment of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Wayside Cemetery in Wayside, Texas.

The Gillham Family requests memorial donations, in memory of Earl, be made to the Wayside Cemetery Association, PO Box 155, Wayside TX 79004.
