Stephen Dardaganian(1930 - 2017)
DARDAGANIAN, Stephen Stephen Garabed Dardaganian completed his baptism in death on March 27, 2017 at the age of 86. Born in Dallas, Texas on October 1, 1930, Stephen was a graduate of Highland Park High School, class of 1947. He entered Texas A&M University
and was a squadron commander in the Corps of Cadets, and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1951. As an officer in the United States Air Force he trained as a meteorologist at Florida State University and was stationed in Germany and France.
He returned to civilian life and earned a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M in 1957. He worked for Atlantic Richfield and then H.J. Gruy in Dallas before launching his own consulting firm, Investors Petroleum Consultants, Inc in
1973. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and other professional organizations. Stephen was a member of West Plano Presbyterian Church and an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA).Throughout his life in the church he was active
in many capacities and found great enjoyment as a member of the choir. He sang in the Dallas Symphony Chorus for 13 years and was a founding member of the Dallas Civic Chorus, serving as their President from 1960-1961. Stephen and Judy received great joy from
traveling with friends, especially when it involved choral music. He developed a love of reading theology and enjoyed woodworking and landscaping. He was proud of his Armenian heritage, of being an Aggie and of his work in the oil and gas industry. He was
a committed servant of the church. Above all he was devoted to his family and to God. He was preceded in death by his father, Garabed Inza Dardaganian, mother, Hripsme ("Rose") Hampartsoumian Dardaganian, an infant brother, Haig "Buddy", great-aunts, Parisette
Hampar and Varteny Saxenian. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith Ellen Dardaganian, daughter Kristin Ellen Booth and husband Rev. Dr. David Booth of Merrimack, NH, son Rev. Bradley Stewart Dardaganian and his wife Christa Darleen Dardaganian of
Bellbrook, OH, and daughter, Stefani Elizabeth Dardaganian of McKinney, TX, his brother Edward Garabed Dardaganian and his wife Paula Black Dardaganian of Richardson, TX, grandchildren Rachel Rose Oxford, Joshua Stewart Dardaganian and Sarah Frances Dardaganian,
niece Debbie Lynn Montgomery and her husband Dr. James Clifton Montgomery of San Angelo, TX, nephew Edward Todd Dardaganian of Dallas, TX, great-niece Natalie Barrett Shelton of Dallas, TX, great-nephew Harrison Hunter Montgomery and his wife Susan Sarosdy
Montgomery of Kingwood, TX, great-great-niece, Madison Carter Montgomery and great-great-nephew Barrett James Montgomery. A service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, April 6, 3:00 pm at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston
Road, Dallas, Texas 75230 officiated by Rev. Dr. David Batchelder and Rev. Matt Calvert of West Plano Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family
requests memorial donations be made to West Plano Presbyterian Church, 2709 Custer Rd, Plano, TX 75075.
