Luther C. Boswell
December 18, 1924 - March 7, 2016
Luther Carroll Boswell went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2016. He was born on December 18, 1924 to L.C. and Hallie Boswell in Barry, Texas. He will be greatly missed as he was one of the most giving people to others. He truly lived a wonderful and blessed life. He is resting in peace now with his Lord.
He served in the United States Air Force in World War II. After the was he married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Weaver on December 5, 1945. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1949. He worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service in Harlingen, Raymonville, Floresville, Frost and Corsicana until his retirement in 1980. In addition to his full time job, he also ran the family farm and ranch.
He was a member and deacon of the Barry Baptist Church. He was also an active member of the Barry Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and Karem Temple and the Corsicana Lions Club.
He had a deep love for his family, his church and serving others. He will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jackie of 68 years, brother Kimes Boswell, sister Lavoyce McCurdy and son in law John Phillips.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Phillips; son and daughter in law, Larry and Kim Boswell; grandchildren, Brian and Carrie Phillips, David and Hanna Phillips, Mylea and Bryan Mitchell, Lara and Johnny Pattison; 10 great grandchildren, Brody, Hallie, Braden, Kenzie, Blake and Lanna Phillips, Sadie and Kade Mitchell, Rylie and Landry Pattison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Many thanks goes to the staff of Brookdale Senior Living. Your care, compassion and love went beyond anything we could have asked for. May you all be blessed for the home and genuine love you proved for seniors.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 6-8pm. Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Phillips, David Phillips, Bryan Mitchell, Johnny Pattison, Victor Howell, Robert Parrish and James Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Corsicana Lions Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barry Baptist Church; Corsicana Lions Club 323 N. Commerce, Corsicana, TX 75110; Scottish Rite Children Hospital www.shrinershospitals.org/donate
