Gibson Howell McLarry passed away November 21, 2015. Gibson was born December 11, 1924 in Crush, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Morgan McLarry. They were married August 25, 1951. He is preceded in death by his son Gary Keith McLarry, his parents, Guy McLarry and Robbie Lee Minter McLarry, one brother Russell Wince McLarry and two sisters, Leta Lou McLarry Patterson and Myra Mattison. He has two surviving sons, Jackie Howell McLarry, Troy Gibson McLarry, Jacob Cole McLarry, wife Leah, Shanna Lorraine McLarry Jobe, husband Steven, Sarah Celeste McLarry Bull, husband Chad, seven great grandchildren, Landon Keith McLarry, Skyler Patrice McLarry, Lily Grace McLarry, Bowen Miller McLarry, Bryson Ray Jobe, Brody Michael Jobe, and Nevaeh June Bull, one sister, Martha Minnick, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Following Gibson's graduation from Sulphur Springs High School in 1943, he entered the United States Navy where he served as an Aviation Machinist Mate and was stationed in Pensocola, Florida for 3 years during WWII. After receiving honorable discharge he entered Texas A&M University and graduated in 1950. In the early part of his marriage in 1951, he and his wife lived in Dallas where he was employed at Vought Aircraft as a tool designer. Most of their married life they have lived in Grand Prairie where they owned and operated the Dairy Queen on Main Street which was a favorite meeting place for the teenagers in those days. After selling the franchise in 1973, he attended truck driving school in Oklahoma and drove 1 million miles before he retired and started delivering vans all over the United States for his son Jackie at Interstate Batteries. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church for over 52 years and served as a deacon for 45 years and also a short time as treasurer. Gibson also taught a Junior Boys class in the High School Dept. for a brief time. Calvary Baptist Church is where all of his sons attended and were saved and baptized and became members under the ministry of Dr.Earl K. Oldham. At the time of Gibson's passing, he faithfully attended Lakewood Baptist Church in Irving, Texas where Rev. Todd Dunn a long time friend, serves as his pastor.

Gib wanted all of you to know that he had accepted the LORD JESUS CHRIST as his SAVIOR and had a very blessed life on this earth. He also wanted all of you to know that GOD has promised to all who believe and accept the LORD as their personal SAVIOR, that we shall see each other again in Heaven one day.

After the Funeral Service, there will be a private burial at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211. Gibson Howell McLarry was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
