Theodore Raymond Keprta, Sr. beloved husband, father, and grandfather died Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 85. He was born on January 23, 1930 in Wharton, Texas to Marie (Faltesek) and Buran Keprta, Sr. of East Bernard, Texas. He was married to Ellenor Hall Knoop for 55 years. Ted's death follows that of his wife Ellenor who died in March 2014. He is survived by his son; Raymond Keprta and his wife Rhoda; his son Carl Keprta and his wife Gaynor; his son Matthew Keprta; and two grandchildren; Pilar Keprta and Griffin Keprta. Ted graduated from East Bernard High School in 1948. He attended Wharton County Junior College where he graduated in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1951 through 1952 in Europe. Upon leaving the service, he attended Texas A & M University where he earned a bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering. Ted worked as a petroleum engineer for the Sinclair Oil Company and the Southern Natural Gas Company from which he retired in 1991. Ted and Ellie moved to Austin, Texas in 1993 and later to Arlington, Texas in 2013.
Services will be held on Friday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 839 Church St., East Bernard, Texas. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
