Max W Lowe, D.V.M.
November 13, 1925 - September 18, 2015

Max W. Lowe, DVM, Mooresville, IN., went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2015. Max was born on November 13, 1925 to the late Orval and Hazel (Sinders) Lowe. Max was preceded in death by his brother Paul Eugene Lowe. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Carol (Woolf) Lowe, son Jay (Trish) Lowe of Greencastle, daughter Denise (Jim) Sparks of Plainfield and his much loved grandchildren Taylor and Bryce. Following graduation from Clay City High School in 1943 he went to Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine as well as post graduate work at Purdue University. Dr. Lowe had a large and small animal practice in Brazil, IN., for 9 years. He then moved to Plainfield, IN. to continue his interests in the animal health industry working with Anchor Serum, Animal Medic, Boehringer Ingelheim and Phillips Pharmaceuticals. Max published articles and conducted seminars across the United States. Max was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Assoc., Life Member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Assoc. and the Indiana Jersey Cattle Club. Max was honored by the Indiana State Fair for over 50 years of exhibiting, judging and promoting the Jersey Cow breed. Max had a long time desire to visit the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel and he and his wife journeyed there several years ago. Max was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Plainfield holding various leadership positions. He loved traditional church music and participation with much humor and knowledge in the LLL Sunday School Class. Max enjoyed vacations with the family and spending time on his farm in Clay City, IN. Max loved his extended families and many friends with endearing appreciation for his niece Debra (Steve) Laswell of Terre Haute, IN., the Marvin Wagler Family of Oden, IN., and David Pennington of Plainfield, IN. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Dusty Cowell officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of the arrangements.
