John "Robert" White
Born: February 16, 1973
Died: September 30, 2015
Location: San Antonio, Texas

John "Robert" White or as many called him "Berto" was born in Nacogdoches, TX on February 16, 1973 to Hayden and Kristine White. Robert left the world of the dying and entered the land of the living to meet His Savior on September 30, 2015.

Robert was raised in Nederland, TX along with his three younger sisters, Mandie, Ashley and Krista. He enjoyed his years as a Nederland Bulldog, achieving great academic success and was on the high school golf team. The highlight of his high school years occurred during his senior year, when his golf team finished 2nd in state.

Robert attended college at Texas A&M University and it was there that he met his best friend and wife, Amy. After graduating in 1995, he went on to earn an MBA degree from Baylor University in 1996. Robert asked Amy to marry him under the Century Tree on the campus of Texas A&M in 1996 and they married on June 7, 1997. Robert and Amy settled in Houston and were very active at Houston's First Baptist Church. In 2002, Robert and Amy left Houston for Robert to pursue his law degree at Baylor University. During this time, Robert and Amy adopted their oldest child, Maya Trishelle in December 2002. Robert graduated from Baylor Law in 2005 and accepted a position in San Antonio. Robert and Amy then added Asa Jeremiah to their family in December 2005. In 2010, Robert and Amy felt called to foster and help the hurting children of San Antonio. After loving on several children, Robert and Amy added Eila Irene to their family in June of 2012.

Robert was first and foremost a loving husband and amazing father to his 3 children. Robert had the ability to make people laugh; he loved biking, hiking, going to the movies and Aggie Football. He loved being an attorney and helping the "least of these" here in San Antonio. So much so, that he and Amy started an orphan care ministry, Hands of Hope, at Churchill Baptist. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Cecil White and Marie Ethel White, grandparents, Robert Vincent and Irene Dorothy Anderson. His contagious personality and gentle heart will be missed by his wife of 18 years, Amy; his 3 children, Maya – 12, Asa – 9 and Eila – 3; his parents, Hayden and Kristine White; his sisters, Mandie, Ashley and Krista and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be at Porter Loring North on October 2 from 5:00-7:30pm.
