Robert Allen Zale
Born: December 30, 1925
Died: September 23, 2015
Robert Allen Zale, 89, of Pearcy, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Bob was born December 30, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Thad and Muriel (Kirsch) Zale.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Patrick Allen Zale; and a grandson, John Mark Blouin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Bradshaw) Zale, of Pearcy; two daughters, Debbie (Gary) Westfort, of Oxford, Georgia, and Robin (Dr. Jim) Agee, of Pearcy; grandsons, Kyle (Christy) Agee, of Bella Vista, Rob (Sue) Blouin, of Coventry, Connecticut, and Shawn (Erin) Blouin of Tracy, California; a granddaughter, Sarah (Josh) Hall, of Marion; 6 great-grandchildren, Ryley, Savannah, Iain, Zoe, Bo and Anders; and as well as a sister, Carole Collins, of Texas City, Texas.
After serving in World War II with the U.S. Army 165th Division, 261st Infantry, at the Battle of the Bulge and other European engagements, Sgt. Zale moved to Houston, Texas where he worked for ARMCO Steel and the City of Houston Tax Assessor’s Office. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University (B.S.), Texas A & M University (M.S.), and did doctoral work at the University of Texas School of Public Health.
A devout Christian, Bob was a Gideon.
A memorial service will be held later.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Steve Bodemann, Dr. Brad Baltz and Dr. Anuradha Kunthur and their Staffs and to the Hot Springs Staff of Arkansas Hospice.
