Robert "Bob" Brooks
Robert S. Brooks Robert S. Brooks, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. He was born in Pecos, Texas, to Fred and Pauline Brooks and was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Brooks, Jr. of Baytown, Texas. In 1950 Bob graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas. He received his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in 1954. He was the owner of AAA Self Storage in Santa Fe, New Mexico for 37 years. Nothing gave Bob more joy than giving, and many were touched by his generosity. Whether it was his family, organized charities, or strangers in need, he never hesitated to offer whatever he could to whomever he could. His inherent kindness, humor, and integrity served as a model for his entire family, to whom he was deeply devoted and which he considered his greatest legacy. He is survived by Marjorie, his wife of 63 years, in addition to a daughter and three sons: Kathleen McIntosh (William) of Santa Fe, NM; Robert S. Brooks, Jr. (Anita) of Farmington, NM; Mark Brooks (Renee) of Santa Fe, NM and Roger Brooks (Shari) of Burbank, CA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Christina Albetta (Zack); Rebecca Velasquez (Jerome); Suzanne McIntosh; Natalie Eichler (Daniel); Erin Brooks; Robert S. Brooks III; Jennifer Yaeger (Clinton); Katrina Rivera (Robert); Jeremy Brooks, Tyler Brooks and Caitlyn Brooks. He was very proud of his great-grandchildren: Adam and Max Velasquez; Emma Lee Brooks; Adalynn and Ami Rivera; Hazel and Brooks Yaeger. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Brooks, of Baytown, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on August 8, 2015 at Memorial Gardens in Santa Fe. Officiant will be Father Johnny Lee Chavez, a family member.
