Pedro Ramon Coronado
February 4, 1924 - March 2, 2015

Pedro R. Coronado, dedicated husband and beloved father passed away in peaceful repose on Monday, March 2, 2015 following a long illness. He was 91 years old. Better known to family and friends as Pete, he was born February 4, 1924 in Benevides, Texas, the eldest son of Pedro and Otila Coronado. A proud graduate of Texas A&M, Pete enjoyed being part of the Corps traditions and supporting his Aggies. He graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering, 1947, and began his career with Marathon Oil Company, the Standard Oil, as a young engineer in the refining division. The quintessential company man, Pete and his family relocated to Marathon head quarters in Findlay, Ohio in 1970. After a long and distinguished career with Marathon, Pete retired his position as a Vice President of Refining in 1983 and relocated to Salado, Texas with his one true love, his wife of 41 years, Eleanor.
Married in 1949, Pete and Ellie were blessed with three daughters, Theresa, Diana and Christina. He enjoyed spending time with his family; particularly road trips back home to Texas. Pete also enjoyed a number of interests including; flying, golfing, family barbeques and the occasional fishing trip. He had a quick smile and an intelligent sense of humor. On March 6, 1990, Ellie passed away and Pete remained in the home they built together, patiently waiting to join her in eternity.
Pete is survived by his daughters: Theresa Coronado, her children Andrea, Jack and William; Diana and husband Mark Panko, their children Isabella and Pete; and Christina and her husband Jim Prpich; as well as his youngest sister Macarita Young.
A rosary, honoring Pete's unending devotion to God and his faith, will be held immediately following Stations of the Cross at Saint Luke Catholic Church in Temple, Texas on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00am at Saint Luke Catholic Church. Burial will follow the funeral mass at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, Texas.
