Died: June 12, 2015
Cecil Bernard Wilde, 79, of Navasota, died Friday evening, June 12, 2015, at College Station Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday, June 15, 2015, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends taking place from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 9677 Hwy 6, in Navasota. A vigil service and parish rosary will conclude the evening at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church with Rev. Rodolfo “JoJo” Cal-Ortiz and Rev. Paul G Felix as the celebrants. The rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery in Anderson.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Wilde, Edward Brenek, Frank Hrachovy, Daniel Zahirniak, Bryan Brenek and Ronald Doskocil. Named as honorary pallbearers are Daniel Hablinski, Richard Krolczyk, Jammy Barron, Melvin Klatt, Jerry Schank and Ernest Janacek.
Cecil was born November 26, 1935 in Westphalia Texas to Otto H. and Dorothy Rathoff Wilde. He attended Catholic school in Westphalia and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1953. Cecil received his B.S. in animal husbandry in 1957 from Texas A&M. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Army. On November 26, 1960 he married Dorothy Macjewski at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Navasota. They moved to Houston where Cecil worked in sales for Rath Packing Co. until he retired in 1991. They returned to Navasota in 1992 where they built their dream home. Cecil was a dedicated member of Christ Our Light Catholic Church and served and volunteered on numerous committees. He enjoyed working outside tending his pecan trees and his hay pasture.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gilbert Wilde.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Wilde of Navasota; a brother, Marvin O. Wilde of Burlington; sisters, Celestine Wilde of Peoria, AZ and Geraldine Doskocil of Little River along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a great number of friends.
For those that desire, memorials may be made in Cecil’s name to St. Stanislaus Cemetery Fund, PO Box 210, Anderson, TX 77830-0210.
