Donald Dean Davis

Donald Dean Davis, age 86 of Red Boiling Springs, passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 at the Macon County General Hospital ER in Lafayette. Funeral Services for Donald Dean Davis were conducted Friday morning, January 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, with Bob Cowan and Jerry Cherry officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Josh Cowan, Ethan Cowan, Jayce Cowan, Jeff Roark, Charles Yingling and Joe Vinson.


Donald was born Monday May 28, 1928 in Macon County, Illinois, the son of the late Chauncey and Gertie Owen Davis. On March 28, 2003, he married Belva Smith Cowan, who survives. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jocelyn Sue Davis. Donald received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M University. He retired on May 30, 1987 from Federal Aviation Administration in Atlanta, Georgia where he served as the Deputy Airways Division Manager with 30 years of service. He was also a member of the Professional Engineers of Tennessee.


Survivors besides his wife, Belva Smith Cowan Davis include: step-sons, Rickie Cowan and wife, Julia, Arlington, TN, Bob Cowan and wife, Regina, Red Boiling Springs, TN; cousins, Linda Davis Holden, Tyrone, GA, Sandra Smith, Red Boiling Springs, TN, Ronal Owen, Tompkinsville, KY, Doris Baker, Three Rivers, MI, Joyce Schmidt, New Burgh, IN; nephew, Timothy Williams, Madison, TN; step-grandchildren, Emily (Charles) Yingling, Josh (Lindsey) Cowan, Ethan Cowan, Jayce Cowan; step-great-grandchildren, Kaden, Glynlee and Emberley Cowan, Charlie and Olivia Yingling.
