August 10, 1943 ~ October 6, 2014 (age 71)
John Harrell Hays, 71, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 in Graham. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Pioneer Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
John was born August 10, 1943 in Graham to the late John Cal and Ruth Agnes (Harrell) Hays. He married Nancy Andrews August 14, 1965 in Graham. John graduated from Graham High School, played football for the Longhorns at The University of Texas and received a Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M. He was a rancher and oil producer and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He coached Little League Baseball in Graham for 10 years.
Survivors include: wife, Nancy Hays of Graham; daughter, Holly Garnett and husband, Todd of Pangburn, Arkansas; sons, Scott Hays and wife, Heidi of Graham and Brad Hays and wife Melissa of Graham; sister, Bonnie Howe and husband, Bobby of Clyde; brother, George Hays and wife, Marsha of Albany; grandchildren, Sky Hays, Scout Hays, Cody Hays, Ben Hays, Kennedy Hays, Jack Hays, Will Hays, Lathan Garnett, Madeline Garnett, Elizabeth Garnett, Katherine Garnett, Abigail Garnett, Georgia Garnett, Fletcher Garnett, John Garnett, Tammy Smith and husband, Curry and children, Titus, Cullen, and Auri and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Graham Regional Medical Center Hospice or charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
