Lawrence “Larry” Hans passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 73 years old. He was born on March 5, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Harvey H. and Marjorie Ann Hans.
Larry was a life-long resident of Alice, Texas. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Parish; he attended Texas A & M University and was an avid Aggie fan; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council
#3169, a member of the Alice Chamber of Commerce, and Jim Wells County Fair Association.
Larry owned and operated Hans Distributing Company, a Lone Star Beer Distributorship. After his retirement, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, working in his vegetable garden, and loved the outdoors. He was also an amazing cook.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Marjorie Hans and one brother, Bobby Hans.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Frances Hans of Corpus Christi, Texas, one daughter, Cheryl (Greg) Ray of Spring, Texas; three sons, Scott (Shannon) Hans of Calallen, Texas, Rodney (Melissa) Hans of Orange Grove, Texas, and Larry (Dawn) Hans
of Dripping Springs, Texas; two brothers, Tommy (Adrian) Hans and Micky (Marta) Hans, both of Woodlands, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hans of Calallen, Texas; nine grandchildren, Harper, Elizabeth, Hollann, Connor, Mitchell, Garrett, Carson, Braden,
and Colby; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins; special friend Blanca Zavaleta of Alice, Texas. The family would like to especially thank Jina Garcia for her loving care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Jim Carlisle. Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Alice, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 with Monsignor Howell and Monsignor Pivonka as Celebrants and Deacon Jim Carlisle. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas.
