EDINBURG – Prominent orthopedic surgeon and community service member Fred L. Perez Jr., M.D. went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Corpus Christi, TX, Dr. Perez had lived and served Edinburg for the past 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Ernestina Perez Chapa and survived by his wife, Elsie Perez, three children: Larissa V. Perez, Fred L. Perez, III, and Ciara B. Perez; his parents, Fred L. Perez, Sr. and Ernestina Laurel Perez and a younger sister, Evangelina Perez Cantu.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary led by the Knights of Columbus today, May 23, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
