LeRoy Branch Everett Jr. Age 95, a longtime resident of Marin County, died December 28, 2014. Roy is preceded in death by his wife Janie and son James. He is survived by three children: Kenneth (Janie) of Martinez, Jane Hurford (Kirk) of Lucas Valley, and Kathleen Sandoval (Michael) of American Canyon; and is also lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Houston, TX, Roy graduated from Texas A&M University. He flew B-17s in WWII, rose to the rank of Major, and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. In 1942 Roy married his sweetheart, Jane B. Ruth. Together they lived in Houston, TX; Southern California; and Marin County. Roy was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, a member of Masonic Lodges in Southern and Northern California, and a member of MOAA and SIRS. He and Janie were longtime members of Marin Country Club. A memorial service and reception in celebration of Roy's life will be held Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 pm at the Novato United Methodist Church. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice or the Novato United Methodist Church.
