James Lee Rike
James Lee Rike, 87 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014. James was born on July 31, 1927 in Malakoff, Texas to Fred Huson, Sr. and Martha Loretta Burkett Rike. Jim was graduate of Texas A M University, served in the United States Navy, and enjoyed a long career in the Petroleum Industry, including holding several patents. James is survived by his son, Chris Rike; his nephews, Robert "Glenn" Rike and his wife Kathy, Fred Charles Rike of Forney, Texas, Donald Lee Rike and his wife Kathy of Forney, Texas, Jeff Welborn and his wife Lisa of Houston, Texas, Ricky Johnson and Jerrold Welborn both of Houston, Texas; his great nieces and nephews, Shelly Mitchell, Kelly Hudson, Kristen Nieto, John Rike, Amy Cook, April Flores, Misti Rike, Christine Wellborn, Joshua and Jessica Welborn; several great-great nieces and nephews; and Teresa Tenhundfeld and Tony Santangelo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Huson, Sr. and Martha Loretta Burkett Rike; wife, Carole Rike; son, Erik Rike; sisters, Mary Lou Wellborn and Martha Jane Johnson; brothers, Fred Huson Rike, Jr. and Wesley Gideon Rike. Mr. Rike will be greatly missed by his friends, neighbors, and associates in the petroleum industry. A celebration of life will be held at Jim's home at a later date.
