Edward H. Stobart, 79, passed away from this life on June 20, 2014 in Kerrville.
He was born on April 02, 1935 in Lake Charles, LA to Edward and Amelia Stobart. Ed
graduated class of 1953 from Charles Milby High School, Houston. He then went on to
attend Texas A&M from 1954-1955. Ed went to work in the oil field starting at the bottom
position on the rig working his way up over the years to Rig Boss. He worked all over the
world; South America, offshore areas, Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. Colleagues of
Ed’s have stated that “Stobart could drill in the ground anywhere and always produce.” He
retired from British Petroleum and went into business as a private consultant. Ed had a
passion for fishing and hunting; he could catch it, prepare it and cook it up. He was an
excellent Cajun cook. Ed moved to Kerrville in 2011 and loved to watch the deer in the
morning and drink a strong cup of coffee.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Aves Stobart.
Ed is survived by his sister, Helen Stobart Evans and husband Gerry of Washington. Ed
will be remembered as a “Good Hand” by his fellow oil field friends. He will be loved and
missed by many other family members and dear friends.
