Mary Sue Pannell, 73, of Boerne, TX was called to the Lord on June 24, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born in Corpus Christi, TX and graduated from Aransas Pass High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas A&I University,
master's degree from University of North Texas and later went on to earn a PhD from Texas A&M University. She met her loving husband of 50 years, Bob Pannell, while teaching at Victoria High School. They later moved to Alpine, TX where she was a teacher and
administrator at Sul Ross State University for 20 years before finishing her career as Director of Teacher Education at SRSU Rio Grande College in Uvalde, TX. She retired in 2003 after 40 years of dedicated service and lifelong commitment to the field of education.
She was a devoted mother to her two daughters: Monica L. Burkholder, wife of Steve Burkholder and Angie Villarreal, wife of Thomas Lee Villarreal, both of San Antonio, TX. One of Sue's greatest passions was being a grandmother to her five grandchildren: Scott
and Katie Villarreal and Taylor, Sarah and Shannon Bowden, all of San Antonio.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Boerne. Memorial donations may be made to River City Hospice of Bandera.
