James "Pete" Farmer
1923 - 2014 James Pete Farmer died June 21, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Pete was born May 9, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. Funeral services for Pete will be at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Silsbee on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at
10:00 AM with interment following at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM on Monday, June 23, at Farmer Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 7 PM. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, R. S. Farmer and Nell Gleason
Farmer, his wife Exa Goodwyn-Farmer, his son Roddy Farmer and his sisters Judy Roschek and Sarah Farmer. Pete is survived by his wife Lorraine FiFi Farmer; his daughter Lisa Hunt and husband Dale; daughter-in-law Rosie Farmer; four grandchildren Shelby Hunt,
Sarah Hunt, Ryan Farmer, Angela Khailil and husband Mo and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by four stepchildren Beverly Newsum, Ben Newsum and wife Brenda, David Newsum and Evie Price and husband Wayne; seven step grandchildren and eight step
great grandchildren. Pete was a 1944 graduate of Texas A & M and he loved his Aggies. He was honored as an Aggie Twelfth Man. He served on the Silsbee ISD Board of Education and in many civic organizations. He was also voted as Citizen of the Year and was
parade marshall of the Christmas in the Big Thicket Parade. He served in the 10th Mountain Division of the US Army and fought during WWII. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church at 905 North 9th Street Silsbee, Texas 77656.
