80, of La Salle
L. Glen Cobb, 80, of La Salle, CO, passed away March 14, 2014 at Hospice of Northern
Colorado. He was born in Gilmer, TX, on April 3, 1933 to John Elmer and Elva Ruth
(Barksdale) Cobb. He married Marta Rivera on November 29, 1960 in San Jose, Costa
Rica.
Glen graduated high school in Shreveport, LA. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served
from 1955-1957. He earned his Bachelors at LSU, Masters at Texas A & M, and his PhD
at Texas A & M. He was a Professor of Meteorology at the University of Northern
Colorado from 1969-1999.
Glen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed
playing piano, gardening, working with livestock and animals.
He is survived by his wife, Marta; sons Eric (Miha) Cobb, Parker, CO, Steve (Mickie)
Cobb, Eaton, CO, Greg (Lesley) Cobb, Kersey, CO and Jason Cobb, La Salle, CO;
brother Jerry (Cathy) Cobb, Shreveport, LA; sister Wanda (George) Carter, Bangor, MA;
grandchildren Erica Cobb, Morgan Cobb, Brady Cobb, and Baylor Cobb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Odus, Dewey and Milton Cobb; sisters
Ruth Lindsey and Parris Cobb; daughter Melissa Cobb; and infant grandson Landon
Cobb.
Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Mission or Feed the Children in care
